Xiaomi has launched the Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro in China, adding two new tablets with high-refresh-rate displays, Snapdragon processors and large batteries.
Unlike the Pad 9 Pro Max, both models use Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets instead of Xiaomi’s XRING O3 processor.
144Hz Displays and Slim Designs
The Pad 9 features an 11.2-inch LCD display, while the Pad 9 Pro comes with a larger 12.5-inch panel.
Both offer a 3,200 × 2,136 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 3:2 aspect ratio and 12-bit colour depth. They also support HDR10, HDR Vivid, Dolby Vision and Wet Touch technology.
The Pad 9 measures 5.75mm thick and weighs around 485g, while the Pro is 5.8mm thick and weighs about 580g.
Snapdragon Performance
The Pad 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Pad 9 Pro gets the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, along with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Both tablets run HyperOS 4.
Large Batteries and Fast Charging
The Pad 9 packs a 9,720mAh battery with 45W charging.
The Pro model gets a larger 11,000mAh battery, supporting 67W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging.
This makes the Pro particularly suited to users who spend long periods working, watching videos or gaming on a tablet.
Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Pad 9 starts at CNY 2,999 (around RM1,818) in China, while the Pad 9 Pro starts at CNY 3,799 (around RM2,303).
Xiaomi has not yet announced global availability for either model.
Final Thoughts
The Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro focus on the features that matter most for everyday tablet use: fast displays, powerful Snapdragon hardware and large batteries.
The Pad 9 Pro offers the more powerful chipset, larger battery and faster charging, while the standard Pad 9 provides a smaller and lighter option.
For now, both tablets are limited to China, with global launch details still to be announced.
