ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026) Review: A Powerful RTX 50 Series Travel Buddy

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026) continues the series’ focus on combining gaming performance with portability. This year’s model pairs Intel’s Core Ultra 9 386H with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, making it a powerful option for gamers who want a compact machine.

Compact Design and Connectivity

The G14 keeps its familiar 14-inch magnesium-alloy chassis, although the 2026 model is slightly thicker and heavier.

It includes a 73Wh battery and a strong selection of ports:

Thunderbolt 4

USB-C 3.2 Gen 2

Two USB-A ports

HDMI 2.1 FRL

Full-size SD card reader

Wi-Fi 7

Bluetooth 6.0

For a compact gaming laptop, the combination of portability and connectivity is a major advantage.

2.8K 120Hz OLED Display

The laptop features a 14-inch Nebula HDR OLED display with a 2,880 × 1,800 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

The OLED panel delivers strong colours, deep blacks and excellent contrast, making it suitable for gaming, entertainment and everyday productivity.

Strong Gaming Performance

The tested configuration comes with:

Intel Core Ultra 9 386H

NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti 12GB

32GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM

1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD

With NVIDIA DLSS and Multi Frame Generation, most tested games were able to reach average frame rates above 100fps. Helldivers 2 was the main exception.

For a 14-inch laptop, this is impressive performance and makes the G14 suitable for both demanding games and productivity work.

Good Battery Life

Battery life is another strong point.

Normal tasks such as web browsing, document editing and occasional video playback can deliver around 10 hours of use.

For video streaming, battery life can reach approximately 14 hours, which is impressive for a gaming laptop equipped with an RTX 5070 Ti.

Soldered RAM Is a Drawback

One of the biggest compromises is the soldered RAM.

The tested model comes with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, but users cannot upgrade it later. While 32GB is plenty for most workloads, heavy multitaskers may eventually find the limitation frustrating.

The laptop can also become warm even during lighter tasks, which is understandable given its compact design and powerful hardware.

RM17,999 Price Tag

The biggest issue is arguably the price.

The Core Ultra 9 386H / 32GB / 1TB / RTX 5070 Ti configuration costs RM17,999 in Malaysia.

That’s a significant investment for a 14-inch gaming laptop, especially when the RAM cannot be upgraded.

Final Verdict

The 2026 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 remains an excellent choice for gamers who want desktop-class performance in a relatively portable package.

Its strongest features include the RTX 5070 Ti, Core Ultra 9 processor, 2.8K 120Hz OLED display, long battery life and compact design.

However, the soldered RAM and RM17,999 price make it difficult to recommend to budget-conscious buyers.

Rating: 8.5/10
