Razer’s Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz TKL brings Hall Effect magnetic switches to the Huntsman lineup, offering fast response times and extensive customisation in a compact tenkeyless design.
The keyboard features a brushed aircraft-grade aluminium top plate, internal acoustic foam and durable double-shot PBT keycaps. It is available in Razer’s standard black finish.
Fast and Responsive Hall Effect Switches
The main attraction is Razer’s Hall Effect Magnetic switches. They provide a snappy and responsive feel that works particularly well for fast-paced gaming.
The keyboard also supports an 8,000Hz polling rate over a wired connection, helping minimise input latency. There is no wireless connectivity, but that is common among Huntsman keyboards.
Plenty of Customisation
Razer gives users extensive control through its software, including the ability to customise settings and create multiple profiles.
This makes it easy to maintain separate configurations for gaming and everyday work without constantly changing settings manually.
A Few Drawbacks
The TKL layout can feel a little cramped, especially for users with larger hands. A wrist rest could also have improved long-session comfort, but one isn’t included.
Typing is relatively loud despite the internal acoustic foam, while the lack of dedicated media controls is another minor disappointment.
The Hall Effect switches are also limited to linear switches, with no tactile or clicky options. Razer doesn’t sell individual replacement switches either, which could be a concern for long-term ownership.
Price and Verdict
At RM509, the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz isn’t cheap, but its Hall Effect switches, 8,000Hz polling rate, solid construction and extensive customisation make it a strong package.
It also compares favourably with the standard Huntsman V3 Tenkeyless 8KHz, which costs RM799.
For casual users, the extra performance may be unnecessary. However, gamers and enthusiasts looking for a responsive Hall Effect keyboard will find plenty to like here.
