The iQOO 16 is officially coming to Malaysia in November 2026 after its launch in China. The new flagship focuses heavily on performance, gaming, display quality and battery life.
6.85-Inch 165Hz AMOLED Display
The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution of 1,440 × 3,168 pixels and a 165Hz refresh rate.
The screen uses Samsung’s M16 emissive material and iQOO’s LEAD 2.0 technology, with up to 10,000 nits of local peak brightness. This combination should make the phone particularly appealing to gamers and users who want a smooth display experience.
Flagship Performance
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and includes iQOO’s Q4 gaming chip.
The gaming system supports features such as ray tracing, game super resolution and frame interpolation. In China, the iQOO 16 is available with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
It runs Android 17 with OriginOS 7 and also includes a PC emulator that reportedly supports nearly 100 games.
8,400mAh Battery
Battery life is another major highlight. The iQOO 16 packs an 8,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.
For sustained gaming and heavy workloads, the phone also uses an 8,500mm² vapour chamber designed to improve heat management.
Triple 50MP Camera System
The rear camera setup includes:
50MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor
50MP Sony-based periscope telephoto camera
50MP ultrawide camera
32MP front camera
While gaming is clearly a major focus, the triple-camera system gives the iQOO 16 a more balanced flagship package.
Other Features
The iQOO 16 comes with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, symmetrical dual speakers and IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance.
The Chinese model is available in Chasing Light, Legend and Racing Track colours.
Malaysia Launch and Availability
iQOO has confirmed that the iQOO 16 will launch in Malaysia in November 2026.
The company has not yet announced the exact launch date, Malaysian pricing, local configurations or colour options.
Final Thoughts
The iQOO 16 is shaping up to be a strong option for users who prioritize gaming, performance and battery life.
Its 165Hz 2K AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, dedicated Q4 gaming chip and huge 8,400mAh battery give it an impressive hardware package.
The biggest question now is the Malaysian price. Once iQOO reveals the local pricing and configurations, we will have a better idea of how competitive the iQOO 16 will be against other flagship smartphones.
