OPPO has brought its Find X9 Ultra to international markets with a clear focus on photography, performance and battery life.
The phone combines the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 7,050mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 144Hz LTPO AMOLED display and an impressive multi-camera system.
With a starting price of S$2,199 for 512GB, however, it has to offer more than just good cameras to justify its premium price.
Premium Design and Display
The Find X9 Ultra features a premium gunmetal design with a vegan leather back in the Tundra Umber colourway. It also includes a dedicated Quick Button for camera controls and a customisable Snap Key for additional functions.
At 236g and 9.1mm thick, it is a relatively large and heavy smartphone, but the build feels solid. The phone also carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
On the front is a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 3,168 × 1,440 resolution and an adaptive 1Hz to 144Hz refresh rate.
The display supports up to 1,800 nits of full-screen brightness and 3,600 nits peak brightness. It delivers sharp visuals, strong contrast and smooth scrolling, making it well suited to everyday use, gaming and video.
Flagship Performance and ColorOS 16
The Find X9 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
It runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and offers a smooth overall experience.
OPPO also includes several AI tools, including AI Bill Manager, which can organise information from digital or physical receipts, and AI Menu Translation for translating restaurant menus.
These features are useful, although some limitations remain. For example, AI Bill Manager requires an internet connection, while menu translation has a limited number of uses.
Four-Camera Setup
Photography is the phone’s biggest selling point.
The rear camera system includes:
200MP main camera with Sony LYT-901 sensor
200MP 3x telephoto camera
50MP ultrawide camera
50MP 10x telephoto camera
A True Color multispectral sensor also helps provide additional colour information.
The main camera features a large sensor, f/1.5 aperture and optical image stabilisation. The high resolution also allows for detailed crop-zoom shots.
The dedicated 10x optical telephoto camera is particularly unusual for a modern smartphone. While most users may not need 10x optical zoom every day, it can be valuable for travel, distant subjects and photography enthusiasts.
The phone can also record up to 8K video at 30fps and 4K at 120fps.
Excellent Battery Life
Battery life is another major strength.
The Find X9 Ultra packs a 7,050mAh silicon-carbon battery, and testing showed more than 24 hours of battery life under controlled conditions.
In everyday use, the phone was able to last through the day without requiring an extra charge.
Charging is also fast, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Testing showed the battery reaching 76% from 18% in around 40 minutes, while a full charge took approximately 75 minutes.
Price and Availability
The Find X9 Ultra starts at S$2,199 for the 512GB version, while the 1TB model costs S$2,599.
During the stated launch promotion, the prices were reduced to S$1,899 for 512GB and S$2,199 for 1TB. The optional teleconverter kit was also offered at a discounted S$399.
Final Verdict
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is a serious flagship rather than simply a camera-focused smartphone.
Its combination of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, excellent 144Hz AMOLED display, huge 7,050mAh battery and versatile four-camera system makes it one of the more capable Android phones of 2026.
The 10x optical telephoto camera and strong battery life are its biggest highlights, while its size, weight and high price are the main drawbacks.
For users who value photography, long battery life and flagship performance, the Find X9 Ultra is a compelling option. At full price, however, buyers will need to decide whether its camera advantages justify the premium over other high-end Android phones.
